Speed record rider, racing ambassador
Thompson is the world’s fastest female motorcycle racer. She set a new motorcycle speed record of 328.467 mph piloting the American-designed BUB 7 Streamliner at the 2018 Dry Lake Racers Australia Speed Week. Days later, she walked away from a 360+ mph crash at the World Speed Trials. She’s earned eight 200 MPH Clubs and one 300 MPH Club and became the first female appointed to the SCTA 200 MPH Club Board of Directors. Her career began in the All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA), finishing third nationally and second in the Western Division in the V-Rod® Destroyer class. Turning to speed runs, she set 10 land speed records as a contract rider and team owner. Often referred to as “America’s Queen of Speed,” she is a popular motorsports ambassador. Her quest to become the world’s fastest motorcycle racer outright by breaking the current record of 376 mph is the focus of “Rockets and Titans,” a soon-to-be-released documentary. Thompson was inducted to the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2018.
