Powerboat driver
How decisively did brothers Tim and Mike Seebold dominate F1 Powerboat racing? The sons of inductee Bill Seebold Jr. won 61 of the 112 major F1 races held from the start of the 1995 racing season until Tim’s retirement at the end of 2016. Mike accounted for 25 of those victories and was F1 champion three times (1982, 1992, 2000). Both Mike and younger brother Tim finished their careers with five victories in the prestigious Bay City River Roar F1 event. Mike registered all five of his wins in a 13 year span, including three straight from 2000-02. In 1996, Mike captured both the F1 and F2 classes. Mike also won the Bud Light Grand Prix in St. Louis six times. Mike found major success in offshore racing as well. He and David Knight and Michael Seebold piloted the “Shogren Performance Marine” to the 2007 US Superboat V Unlimited National Championship, leading every lap. Superboat V Unlimited is the fastest of the vee-bottom classes.
