Motocross rider, team owner, commentator
The Kansas City, Kansas-born Cam Jeffrey Emig was one of the top AMA Motocross and Supercross riders of the 1990s. His battles with main rival and 2010 MSHFA inductee Jeremy McGrath made them both superstars. During the decade, “Fro” won three AMA National Motocross titles (1992, 1996, 1997), the 1996 FIM World Supercross crown, 1997 Daytona Supercross, 1997 250 AMA Supercross crown and the 1999 US Open of Supercross. Emig was also a member of six U.S. Motocross des Nations teams from 1992 through ‘97, winning his class on every displacement: 125, 250 and 500cc. The U.S. won the Motocross des Nations three of the six years. In all, the wildly popular Emig won 36 AMA races. He retired following back and leg injuries suffered at the beginning of the 2000 season. In recent years he’s done commentary for FOX Sports and served as a consultant to bike manufacturers. Emig was named 1997 AMA Pro Athlete of the Year and inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2004.
