Since 1984, he’s contributed to many publications, including Hot Rod and Car Craft, and from 1996-2005 headed drag racing coverage for RACER. He’s one of two people to receive two Special Recognition Awards from the All-Star Drag Racing Team program (1984, 2000). Asher is the senior editor for Drag Racing Edge Magazine and CompetitionPlus.com, the second-largest internet site about the sport. He received the Founders Award from the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Straight Shooter Award from AARWBA in 2010.
