Crew chief, broadcast analyst
“Larry Mac” was one of the sport’s top crew chiefs from 1985-2000, guiding his drivers, including inductee Dale Earnhardt and inductee Davey Allison, and Ernie Irvan, to 23 NASCAR Cup Series wins, 21 poles, 122 Top 5s and 209 Top 10s; McReynolds’ cars scored Top 10s in 47% of their starts. Among those 23 wins are DAYTONA 500 victories for Allison (1992) and Earnhardt (1998). Allison and McReynolds also won back-to-back All-Star races (1991-2). McReynolds was named to the Copenhagen/Skoal All-Pro Team five straight years (1991–1995). In 2001, McReynolds left pit road to join inductee Darrell Waltrip and Mike Joy in the broadcast booth, where they formed one of the sport’s most popular teams. McReynolds continues as an analyst for NASCAR On Fox and FS1's Cup races and studio shows, RaceHub and RaceDay, and co-hosts "On Track" on SiriusXM with Danielle Trotta. His three books are "The Big Picture: My Life from Pit Road to the Broadcast Booth," "How to Become A Winning Crew Chief" and "The Constant Pursuit of Perfection."
