Driver, owner, TV host
The three-time Top Fuel champion is the first African-American to win a major NHRA championship. He is also the only driver to win both on Pro Stock Motorcycles and in Top Fuel. The son of a drag racer, Brown began in Pro Stock Motorcycles riding for star NFL cornerback Troy Vincent’s team in 1998, winning 16 events before switching to Top Fuel in 2008. Once there he began winning at a prodigious rate, collecting championships in 2012, 2015, and 2016. As of the start of the 2022 season, Brown was tied with inductee Joe Amato for third on the all-time Top Fuel wins list with 52, behind Tony Schumacher and inductee Larry Dixon Jr. Brown has 126 combined career final rounds, across TF (94) and PSM (32). He started his AB Motorsports Top Fuel team for the 2022 season where he is owner/driver. In 2017, Brown was one of the hosts of the first season of the BBC’s Top Gear America. He’s also made appearances on Idris Elba: No Limits and Discovery’s Wheeler Dealer.
