Reid is the only person to serve as lead announcer for all six major North American auto racing series: NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Trucks, IndyCar, NHRA and IMSA. He also served as lead announcer for the Rolex 24 @ Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, AMA Supercross, Motocross and Daytona 200, desert, stadium and short-course off-road racing, Pikes Peak Hillclimb, FIA World Rally Championship, SCCA Pro Rally, Porsche Super Cup and the Reno Air Races. In addition, he served as pit reporter for Formula 1, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and USAC Silver Crown, Sprint and Midget. His eight years as the television voice of the Indianapolis 500 is third behind Jim McKay and Paul Page. Reid also built two companies. From 1988 to 2005, Marty Reid Enterprises (MRE) produced over 1000 hours of racing television for ESPN and Speedvision. He also founded Championship Off Road Racing (CORR), which grew in eight years to 143 race teams and over 600 licensed members contesting events from Connecticut to California. Reid sold CORR and MRE in 2005.
