• 36th Annual Motorsports Hall of Fame of America Induction Celebration Presented by Toyota Racing for the Third Consecutive Year, March 11 – 12, 2024 in Daytona Beach
• Additional Premier Sponsors of Two-Day 2024 MSHFA Induction Celebration Include PNC Bank, Honda and Firestone
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (December 15, 2023) – A premier lineup of companies as influential in past and present-day motorsports as the accomplished Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) 2024 Induction Class has stepped up to support next year's honorees as official sponsors of the 2024 MSHFA Induction Celebration presented by Toyota Racing, March 11 - 12, 2024.
The 36th class to be inducted into the MSHFA in 2024 includes: Austin Coil (Drag Racing), Scott Dixon (Open Wheel), Earl B. Gilmore (Historic), Jim Downing & Dr. Robert Hubbard (Technology), Bud Ekins (Motorcycles), Jimmie Johnson (Stock Cars), Paul Newman (At Large), John Surtees (Sports Cars) and Phil Walters, aka “Ted Tappett” (Historic).
Anchoring the sponsorship of the two-day induction celebration, which takes place at both the MSHFA Museum at Daytona International Speedway and headquarters hotel The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach, is returning and longtime supporter Toyota Racing. For the third consecutive year, Toyota Racing is the presenting sponsor of the MSHFA Induction Celebration presented by Toyota Racing, the black-tie gala the evening of Tuesday, March 12, featuring the formal induction of the majority of the Class of 2024 into the Hall as the culminating event of the two-day schedule.
The MSHFA Induction Ceremony presented by Toyota Racing will be preceded on the evening of Monday, March 11, by the traditional "Heroes of Horsepower" reception that welcomes first-time MSHFA partner PNC Bank as presenting sponsor. The PNC Bank "HoH" reception is the chance for induction attendees to see the MSHFA Museum at DIS in a strolling dinner throughout the attraction that evening, ending with the unveiling of the handmade bronze induction plaques that will be permanently placed in the Hall.
The generous support of the event from PNC is part of the bank's celebration of the induction of 2024 Open Wheel honoree Dixon who has a successful partnership with PNC Bank driving the No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Dixon's team owner Chip Ganassi preceded Dixon into the Hall as the 2016 Open Wheel inductee.
Honda is also a major motorsports fixture continuing its support of the MSHFA as the sponsor for Tuesday's Inductee Brunch presented by Honda, which will be held this year at the 500 Club in the infield of DIS overlooking the start/finish line on the landmark tri-oval. The highlight of the event is the formal induction of each year's Historic inductees, which in 2024 includes Gilmore and Walters.
Another longtime and dedicated sponsor of the MSHFA is Firestone that in 2024 provides sponsorship for the Induction Celebration Welcome Lunch Presented by Firestone on Monday, March 11 at The Shores. The first event of each year's induction, the Firestone luncheon welcomes attendees and includes a session at the end of the event for inductees and their presenters to become familiar with the following days formal induction procedures.
The 2024 Induction Celebration also features the continuation for the third straight year of special daytime presentations and roundtable discussions. Complementing their backing of Monday's Welcome Lunch, Firestone also provides the sponsorship of Tuesday's daytime presentation, Chip Ganassi Racing: The Chemistry of Winning presented by Firestone. The panel at The Shores includes Hall of Famers Ganassi and Dixon and at least one other CGR-connected member of the MSHFA to be announced early in 2024.
"Sponsors are the lifeblood of all motorsports and we are honored, as the Hall of Fame of ALL motorsports, to have such incredible supporters like Toyota Racing, Firestone, Honda, PNC Bank and our other valued partners," said MSHFA President George Levy. "We truly could not fulfill our mission of preserving the history and legacy of all things American motorsports without our sponsor partners and look forward to welcoming even more. We have several other events during the 2024 induction celebration still in need of support and would look forward to discussing these possibilities with any interested corporate or individual sponsors."
